Beauty Parlour to Drug Network: Delhi Police Arrest Alleged ‘Lady Don’ Linked to Organized Crime
Delhi Police have arrested Khusnuma Ansari, also known as Neha, on allegations of managing a narcotics distribution network linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Authorities claim Ansari operated a beauty parlour in Northeast Delhi as a front while coordinating drug logistics alongside her partner Mahfooz, alias Bobby Kabutar.
The arrest, carried out by the Special Cell’s Counter Intelligence unit, marks the third detention of a woman allegedly connected to the syndicate in recent weeks. Investigators say the case signals a shifting operational dynamic within organized crime, where women are increasingly assuming strategic roles.
Police Operation and Arrest
The Delhi Police Special Cell apprehended Ansari near the Mahipalpur flyover following surveillance inputs. Officers reported seizing a substantial quantity of narcotics during the operation. Her partner, Mahfooz—described as a weapons supplier and key operative—was also taken into custody along with two others.
Investigators allege Mahfooz served as an intermediary between networks linked to Bishnoi and Hashim Baba, strengthening inter-gang coordination.
Alleged Criminal Front
Police claim Ansari maintained a dual identity—running a beauty parlour by day while overseeing drug distribution channels behind the scenes. Officials allege the establishment was used to mask illicit transactions and coordinate supply chains.
Authorities have informally referred to her as “Madam Zeher,” citing her alleged influence in narcotics circulation.
Emerging Trend in Organized Crime
Ansari is the third woman arrested in connection with the syndicate, following earlier detentions of Deepa and Zoya Khan. Law enforcement officials say the case reflects a broader shift in gang structures, with women participating beyond peripheral roles.
Experts note that such diversification may be a tactical response to heightened surveillance, complicating enforcement strategies.
